MANIFESTATIONS OF VARIUOS TREATMENTS AND SOME GOINGS-ON IN THE LIVES OF HOMOSEXUALS

In Uganda some have already been mentioned in the above paragraphs.

But being gay in Uganda it makes life so hard to live, As motioned earlier many experience a lot of mistreats as in day-to-day life and this include Mob Justice. Many gays and lesbians face beating in clubs, bars etc. and this goes on where a victim have no where to turn to. A gay person can’t go to the Police, which is already haunting him down to face charges, so one surfers in silent.

b)      Many students denied access to further studies expelled from schools for being homosexuals and you cant take any further action as regarding the matter

Article 21(1)

Provides as follows;

All persons are equal before and under the law in all spheres of political, economical, social and cultural life, and in every other respect, and shall enjoy equal protection of the law.

Article 40(1) of the same constitution also provides;

‘Parliament shall enact law;

a)       To provide for the right of persons to work under satisfactory safe and healthy conditions.

b)       To ensure equal payment for equal work without discrimination and

c)       Every person in Uganda has the right to practice his or her profession and carry on any lawful occupation trade or business.

Article 23 (1) of the UDHR provides;

Every one has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favorable conditions of work and to protection against employment.

While we expect to have equal opportunity and to advance in the career of our choice here our rights are abused by the way we are fired from work and denial of positions. Our rights to employment are still violated contrary to provisions of the Uganda Constitution and the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights.

b)      Gays and Lesbians are subjected to unprovoked violence.

The Right to Privacy

According to article 27(1) of the constitution;

‘No person shall be subjected to;

a)      Unlawful search of person, home or other property of that person; or

b)      No person shall be subjected to interference with province of that person’s home, correspondence, communication or other property.

The above article is on line with article 12 or the UDHR, which provides;

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation.

Every one has the right to protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

The right to privacy does not just protect an inventory of privileged activities, nor is it these activities per se which justify the bright.  The right foremost objective is the protection of that human need, that human condition, from which the privileged status of such activities arise. Obstruction of these activities is obstruction of that human condition, thus the right to privacy safeguards not only physical and material processes, but psychological ones as well, intimate relationships with other people counting among these privileged activities.
